The William J. Bannet Memorial Trophy voted in and generously supported by the members of the South Bay Scooter Club. During the 1987-1988 season in memory of our friend, past commodore and many years secretary and treasurer. Bill Bannet's tireless efforts on behalf of the club and its activities were responsible for the club's solid success in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
The trophy represents the member's appreciation and fondness for Bill during the many memorable days of scooter sailing on the Great South Bay.
The trophy is entrusted to South Bay Scooter Club and, as voted by the members, is to be awarded as a second place trophy for the Scooter Club Memorial Race.
This deed of gift can be revised by a favorable vote of the South Bay Scooter Club membership.
