This trophy was presented to the South Bay Scooter Club by Alfred “Dutch” Ackerly in February 1959. The trophy is to be raced for annually if possible. It shall be one race over a three (3) mile triangular course for a total of twelve (12) miles and must be completed in 45 minutes or less by the winning boat to be considered an official race.
Only small scooters as defined by the revised by laws of November 1956 shall be allowed to compete. All existing rules of the South Bay Scooter Club in force at the time of said race shall apply, and any situations arising at any time, which are not covered by these or the South Bay Scooter Club existing rules shall be referred to the Race Committee for decision.
After January 1, 1972 this trophy shall be awarded to the second place boat in the race for the George Ackerly trophy and will no longer be raced for in a separate race for first place.
