ARTICLE I
NAME
The name of this organization shall
be the South Bay Scooter Club of Long Island,
Inc.
ARTICLE II
OBJECT
The object of the club shall be
to promote, stimulate and encourage ice yachting
and to promote the social interest of good -fellowship
and to stimulate races of speed under reasonable
and prudent rules.
ARTICLE III
OFFICERS
The officers of the club shall be Commodore, Vice-Commodore,
Rear-Commodore and Secretary-Treasurer.
ARTICLE IV
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The annual election of officers
will take place at the first regular meeting of
the year.
ARTICLE V
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
The duties of the Commodore shall
be to preside at all of the regular meetings of
the club and appoint all committees. He may call
a special meeting at his pleasure, also at the
written request of five members of the club.
It shall be the duty of the Vice-Commodore
to assist the Commodore in discharge of his duties
and to officiate in his absence.
It shall be the duty of the Rear-Commodore to
assist the Commodore and the Vice-Commodore in
discharge of their duties and to officiate in
their absence.
It shall be the duties of the Secretary
to keep a true record of the proceedings of all
meetings and business of the club; to file document
records, reports connected with the business of
the club and to receive all monies due the club,
pay all bills contracted by it and keep a current
account in a book provided for that purpose.
ARTICLE VI
DUES
The annual dues for this club shall
be: Senior members Six Dollars ($6.00) Junior
members Two Dollars ($2.00) Initiation Ten Dollars
($10.00) Late membership (after December 31st)
Ten Dollars (10.00) The Secretary shall render
dues notices for the month of November.
ARTICLE VII
ORDER OF BUSINESS
1. Reading of the minutes of the
previous meeting.
2. Reading of Treasurer’s report.
3. Reading of communications and bills.
4. Unfinished business.
5. Proposals for membership.
6. Reports of committees.
7. Election of officers.
8. New business.
9. Sick members.
10. Payment of dues.
11. Anything for the good of the club.
12. Appointment of the refreshment committee for
the next meeting.
13. Adjourn.
ARTICLE VIII
CLUB BURGEE
The official pennant shall be a
pointed Blue Burgee with the white letters S.B.S.C.
ARTICLE IX
AMENDMENTS TO THE BY-LAWS
By-laws may be amended by a vote
of two thirds of the members present at any regular
meeting. Amendments must be brought to the floor
one meeting prior to being voted on.
ARTICLE X
MEETINGS
The regular meeting of the club
shall be held on the firs and third Tuesday of
each month during the months of November, December,
January, February and March. |
