| Comment: | Name in original Book of Numbers was IN-ORBIT. Started by an unknown party and finished by Rupert Behan. A “Fishman” style boat with round ends. Boat is now (2004) maintained by Ed Behan. Boat shell originally purchased in 1964 from a private owner in Massapequa, NY. The Scooter was finished by Rupert, Rupert’s son Ed, Jake Parris & Henry Nagel. Mast is Sitka spruce. The original sail came off an Ice-boat out of Chicago in 1958. This sail is now used as a heavy air sail. Light air sail comes from a Melge 24’, Sail number 43. This Scooter is the second family Scooter. The first was a larger boat with a gaff rig. |
